LP Collection
“Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication.” – Leonardo da Vinci
The names given to each device in the “LP Collection” (33/45/78/EP) is a loose reference to different speeds of vinyl records that were/are used as a medium for music listening. Although records are considered an outdated format (compared to modern digital music), records will always have their place because of their warm analog sound quality and simplicity of use. This is something that both the young and old seem to appreciate. A modern DJ or musician is likely aware that using a variety of analog and digital instruments is the correct recipe to achieve the best effect.
The board that powers my LP Collection box mods was chosen according to that very same sentiment.
The heart of each LP Collection board is a rudimentary chip that was made popular by companies like Motorola in the early 1970’s and are still used today in many different applications today. The simplicity and stability of this chip also makes it a great candidate for use in a box mod.
“Art is the elimination of the unnecessary” –Pablo PicassoUnlike most of the commercially available vape boards out there (Evolve, YiHi, etc.), the LP Collection does not rely on the capability of the board itself to boost/buck voltage output. Instead, it uses pulse timing (pulse width modulation) to allow the user to manipulate raw power directly from the batteries themselves. To put it simply, it gives you the unadulterated output feel of a mechanical mod but with the simulated voltage control of a regulated box mod. This board is not limited by the resistance of your atomizer – nor is it the size of an inductor. The only real limitation is the max current allowed by your batteries (usually 30A). At the recommended lower limit build of 0.2Ω, the LP Collection is easily driven to over 250 watts. This is NOT a boxmod for beginners – Please use with caution!
The “EP”
The EP is slightly taller and wider than the 45 and uses a custom CNC-milled enclosure with hidden lid-magnets. The extra width allows the addition of a voltmeter which reads that standing voltage of your batteries. Brushed aluminum lid is recommended for maximum HEMO effect.
DIMENSIONS:
The EP (3.3”x2.4”x1.0”)
SPECS:
Max Power: 252W @ 30A
Voltage*: 0.0-8.4V
Resistance: 0.2ohm-2.5ohm (recommended)
Batteries: 2 x 18650 (In Series)
FEATURES:
Internal Voltmeter: Optional voltage input meter (total battery life)
Internal On-Off : Master power switch located inside the enclosure
The “45”
The “45” uses the same enclosure as the Rookie and the RapGod Mini. It is arguably one of the smallest dual 18650 custom box mods that exists today. Coupled with the LP series board, it is also one of the most powerful as well.
DIMENSIONS:
RapGod Orignal (3.15”x2.17”x1.00”)
SPECS:
Max Power: 252W @ 30A
Voltage*: 0.0-8.4V
Resistance: 0.2ohm-2.5ohm (recommended)
Batteries: 2 x 18650 (In Series)
FEATURES:
Internal Voltmeter: n/a
Internal On-Off : Master power switch located inside the enclosure
The “33”
The 33 is somewhat taller and skinnier than the 45 and the EP. Like the EP, it makes use of an on-board voltmeter to give you an idea of how much battery life remains before the next charge.
DIMENSIONS:
RapGod Orignal (3.94”x1.97”x1.00”)
SPECS:
Max Power: 252W @ 30A
Voltage*: 0.0-8.4V
Resistance: 0.2ohm-2.5ohm (recommended)
Batteries: 2 x 18650 (In Series)
FEATURES:
Internal Voltmeter: Optional voltage input meter (total battery life)
Internal On-Off : Master power switch located inside the enclosure
The “78”
The 78 is the largest of the group and is capable of using either a pair of 18650 or 26650 batteries. It’s large handprint means that it can comfortably make use of larger (up to 28mm) atomizers with the extra battery life to boot.
